Roger Jacques (1920-2001), A Renowned Ceramicist Among The Pottery Artists Of Puisaye, In Saint Amand, In The Nièvre (France).

In Marcel Poulet’S Book “Poteries Et Poteirs De Puisay,” The Author Mentions This Jacques In The Commune Of St. Verain From The 17Th Century. Roger Jacque Is The Last Potter Of This Descent. From An Early Age, Roger Jacques Followed An Apprenticeship With His Father Albert. Upon The Death Of His Father, Roger Took Over The Family Business, But Abandoned The Traditional Manufacture Of Large Pottery In Favor Of A New Collection Of Dinnerware And Serving Pieces. This Change Also Brought With It The Development Of A Unique New Range Of Glazes That Make Each Sandstone Piece A Unique Work Of Art.
